Goodbye Soy!

Until today our Steve’s Craft Dairy Free ice cream featured both coconut based and soy based ice cream. But after much consideration and listening to all the feedback from you (our customers, fans, and supporters) we have decided to drop soy from our line! Our Craft Dairy Free line will now solely feature coconut based ice cream (with of course the occasional hemp, rice, or almond milk base when the flavor deems it appropriate).

Why are we saying goodbye to soy?

Many of our customers have informed us that they were turned off by soy (even the organic soy we had been using) due to the mass production of the crop and the overuse of soy and soy derivatives as food additives, not to mention the rising number of soy food allergies and other controversial health concerns regarding soy. Our response is simple. It’s not that we’re saying soy is evil, all we’re saying is that if our customers aren’t excited about it, we don’t want to make it. So we’re not.

The new star of Craft Dairy Free: COCONUT

Our coconut dairy free is more than just a vegan non-dairy alternative to ice cream - it’s the health conscious consumer’s answer to ice cream. Sure, coconut used to have a bad rap for being high in saturated fat, but now it is emerging as a nutritious food with unique health benefits. Coconut is full of healthy fats (medium-chain fatty acids or MCFA’s) that not only boost metabolism, but also are used in the body for energy rather than being stored as fat! Have another scoop
